1977

Durametal's history begins in 1855, in Fortaleza, with the implementation of Fundição Cearense, considered the oldest active foundry in the country, according to ABIFA (Brazilian Foundry Association).

In 1977, Metaneide, an auto parts company that manufactured brake drums, was acquired. In 1992, exports began, starting with Chile and going on to 18 other countries, with the United States and Canada as the main markets.
